Inside the experiment

Physics. XPBD soft-body simulation on a tetrahedral mesh (~1.2k elements). Volume preservation, elastic constraints, and adaptive ground contact. The rind is ~2× stiffer than the flesh.

Rendering. WebGPU + WGSL with thickness-dependent absorption, Fresnel reflections, and subsurface scattering approximation. Three distinct material layers: translucent jelly flesh, pale albedo layer, and glossy green rind with irregular stripes.

Interaction. Pointer-based grabbing with raycast picking. Drag anywhere on the slice to deform. Release to watch it settle. Touch and mouse supported.
